To close his brief visit to New York city, Edward Kelsey Moore attended a luncheon in his honor at Random House publishing, where some of the "behind-the-scenes" artists, editors and staff from Knopf and Vintage books who worked on producing The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat in it's hardcover and paperback editions gathered to celebrate. It was a perfect afternoon of visiting, future planning over tasty lunch treats, and swapping industry gossip.
Edward Kelsey Moore visited the dazzling, modern headquarters of the New York Times in mid-town Manhattan, where he enjoyed a lunch-interview with Patrik Henry Bass, Senior Books Editor from Essence magazine. During the lively conversation, which was presented to the New York Times' in-house Cross Affinity Book Club, Edward explained to the appreciative New York Times staff how he came to write The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat and shared with them how the characters of the "Supremes" evolved. Patrik Henry Bass, author of Like a Mighty Stream, which focuses on the historic 1963 March on Washington, provided a broader context of black history and asked intriguing questions. It was a delightful and informative event!
