About Iron Horse Review:
In 1999, Texas Tech University founded Iron Horse Literary Review in order to bring the literary arts to West Texas, which did not have a national print venue for creative writing. They wanted an inexpensive way to bring America’s respected poets, storytellers, and essayists to serious readers living in the remote panhandle.
Iron Horse Literary Review publishes five print issues a year and one e-edition, all filled with the best fiction, nonfiction, and poetry they can find. Writers address topics and events of ordinary human concern in unique and imaginative ways, and their stories and poems teach us something about ourselves. Iron Horse publishes established writers, new writers, and, in particular, women and writers of color—all of them artists who keep the Review’s pages both energized and relevant. “We want everyone to read and read, and keep reading, because literature unites humanity. We show up in our subscribers’ mailboxes six times a year as a reminder.” And that’s at the low subscription rate to both libraries and individuals of only $18. Iron Horse is making a difference in the literary world and the world at large. We hope you’ll join their efforts —by subscribing or submitting some great work!
