This weekend we honor the memory of MLK and the many ways he continues to remind everyone of where this country has been, and where it could be going. The Chicago Sinfonietta will celebrate the life and legacy of M.L.K. with their 30th anniversary concerts -- this year the orchestra will present: Ask Your Mama, in its Chicago premiere. With words penned in 1960 by Langston Hughes that still resonate as if written by a lyricist today, amplified by a cast including operatic singer, jazz vocals, spoken word, archival audio samples, archival video, plus full orchestra, Ask Your Mama is the epic, evocative, multi-media jazz/symphonic composition that only Chicago Sinfonietta could present for their 30th anniversary M.L.K. Tribute concerts! Don’t miss your chance to experience this Grammy® award-winning and technically challenging masterpiece in its full alive performance glory! Edward Kelsey Moore will be among his Sinfonietta orchestra colleagues for these concerts.
