Last September, Edward Kelsey Moore was invited to participate in a wonderful weekend retreat called Booktopia, which occurs three times a year (with a roster of different authors) in different U.S. locations. The fantastic McLean & Eakin Booksellers in Petoskey, Michigan, hosted many of the weekend's events, including a Celebration of Authors on Saturday night. The truly delightful (and very informative) Michael Kindness and Ann Kingman, who created the Books On The Nightstand (BOTNS) podcast, are also the organizers of Booktopia and they were there, with podcasting equipment recording, throughout the Saturday night celebration. You can hear the BOTNS episode where Edward Kelsey Moore recounts to the lively audience how he was "nudged" to finish his first short story, if you click here! To enhance your listening pleasure with photos from the event, click here! Two of the other authors from that weekend, Peter Geye and Susan Gregg Gilmore, are featured in the same podcast and share insights about their writing. (The entire episode runs less than 30 minutes -- no registration or special equipment is needed to listen.) With your own ears you will experience how excited and entertained everyone was... It's nearly as good as being there yourself! Note: It looks like all three of the Booktopia weekends for this year have already sold out -- but you can join a waiting list! Follow the registration links for the city where you would like to attend to find the waiting list. Or get yourself on their e-mail list to receive advance notice for next year's events! Mesdames et Messieurs, Ladies and Gentlemen, a hearty round of applause to welcome the French translation of Edward Kelsey Moore's The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat from publisher ACTES SUD! The French translation is chicly titled: Les Suprêmes. This edition is now available in shops and online throughout France and other French speaking parts of the world, including: Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Morocco and more! Actes Sud tells us they will have a big promotional campaign in France with big posters in the national train stations and the Paris metro stations. AND we're told: "though the book just went on sale this week, we are already obliged to reprint it immediately, and the buzz is truly e-nor-mous here, you can’t imagine!!" A few merchants also have the French translation available as an eBook. Below are the ISBN book numbers if you want to seek out Les Suprêmes for yourself. Click on the book cover to see it larger! The text of the bold, red wrapper translates as: They will become your best friends!
