The Library Journal runs a feature called Prepub Alert: the first word on titles and trends -- and they have selected The Supremes and Edward Kelsey Moore for an article on Seven Debuts to Watch. Here's what Journal editor Barbara Hoffert wrote for her readers: "This debut by cellist Moore is being compared to The Help, Waiting To Exhale, and Fried Green Tomatoes, with a pointed reminder that the characters represent the growing black middle class from the Sixties onward. Also recommending the book: a big tour, a reading group guide, and multiple foreign rights sales." Click here to see the entire article. It's great to get prepublication notice!
In October Edward Kelsey Moore was in Minneapolis discussing the upcoming release of The Supremes with independent booksellers from across the midwest states. He was presented and then spoke to the booksellers at a reception hosted by the ABA (American Booksellers Association). The reception was one of the events surrounding the Heartland Fall Forum trade show.
Next year, near the time of the U.S. release of The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat, Edward Kelsey Moore will go on a book tour across the midwest -- plus a few cities in the east. We're calling it: The Midwest and Moore Tour! The preliminary plans are for E.K.M. to make bookstore appearances in several midwest cities, including Chicago, and in the eastern U.S. he'll have events at bookstores in metro New York, Washington DC, and Atlanta. We'll post more details as the tour plans come together. This is very exciting!!
