Six months have passed since THE SUPREMES AT EARL’S ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT was released and I’ve never had so much fun in my life. I had a little dream for this book and what has happened since March has blown that little dream out of the water. A year ago, I never would have imagined that THE SUPREMES would have brought me new friends in Germany (Hello to my traveling companions, Regula, Regina, Berit!) or put me in front of enthusiastic readers in England. (Thank you, Francesca.) The past several months have reminded me again and again that booksellers are the coolest people on the face of the planet. Before meeting so many dedicated booksellers, I thought that my fellow musicians were the only people who were willing to work so hard for so little remuneration, just because they loved their work. And the best thing of all about the past six months has been meeting and hearing from the readers who embraced my book and turned it into a New York Times bestseller. When I say “thank you” at readings, I mean it. I appreciate every single reader. And I want to say a special thank you to the people who have written the kind and touching emails to me. I wasn’t anticipating many letters or emails, and I’ve now received thousands. I think I’ve written back to everyone by now to express my gratitude, but I want to say again how honored I feel to have received each email and note. I know I’ll get to say hello in person to more of you over the coming year. Thanks again for treating me and THE SUPREMES to a magical six months. -- Edward
