![]() All over the country and many times each month, book clubs are gathering to talk about The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat. We’ve heard from clubs that meet at book stores, libraries, places of worship, senior centers, and the homes of friends and neighbors. We’d like to express our gratitude to the readers from all these diverse clubs who have embraced the novel over the past several months and sent us excited email, or posted about their activities on their sites. And a special thank you to the Go On Girl! Book Club for selecting The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat as their January 2014 Book of the Month. Here's a little bit about Go On Girl!: Since our founding in 1991, more than 30 chapters in 13 states have been organized. Each chapter is limited to 12 members to keep each regular, monthly meeting intimate and manageable. Our members range in age from twentysomething to sixtyplus and they have varied professional backgrounds and personal interests. Go On Girl! Book Club is the largest national reading organization in the U.S. for black women. We can't show you all the delightful pictures that we've received from club gatherings, since many are not posted publicly, but below are a few links to book clubs that have shared some particularly great photos on their websites. This club in northern Maryland has been reading and discussing books for over 11 years. At their meeting for The Supremes at Earl's last year, the hostess put together a major dining event in her lovely home. You can find mouth-watering pictures here. The Foodie Book Group is located near Seattle, WA. When they recently met to talk about The Supremes, they were book-inspired to put together a meal with a funeral theme. Their page (click here) also goes into a bit of detail on their discussion of the book. The U.S. G.I.R.L.S. Book Club, founded in October 2004, in and around Jacksonville, FL, also went into specifics about their meeting, scroll down this page to read about their Supremes at Earl's event. Finally, we’ve seen postings from three book clubs whose gatherings are open to the public, and who will be meeting (coincidentally) on February 4th -- the date when the U.S. paperback edition of The Supremes will arrive in bookstores across the country! If you happen to live in New York, Florida, or Indiana, and are near one of these club meetings, why not stop in and share some of your thoughts about the book? Everyone has something to say about The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat!
