The author of Mrs Roosevelt und das Wunder von Earl's Diner (The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat) has been interviewed by NDR, North German Broadcasting, in anticipation of his appearance on Thursday evening at the Vattenfall Lesetage (Reading Days) Festival in Hamburg.  The interview/article gives more details on the author's inspiration for the novel's main character, Odette.  Here is a link to the article in German, and (roughly) translated into English.  Below is more information on the festival.

Vattenfall Lesetage (Reading Days Festival) 18 to 25 April, 2013 -- Literature flowers in spring!
Every April, Hamburg becomes a great literary stage -- at the Vattenfall Reading Days bestselling authors and promising newcomers present their works - across the city, often in unusual places.
A thriller in the Institute of Legal Medicine, eastern stories in the Afghan Museum, pirate adventures on the Cap San Diego...  This year over 100 events in traditional as well as unusual locations throughout Hamburg are planned. Throughout the eight-day festival more than half of the programming is aimed at children and teenagers, offering exciting lectures and interesting workshops.  The festival attracts more than 10,000 visitors annually.
