Earlier this month Amber Gregg from the blog, Judging More Than Just The Cover, did an interview with E.K.M. -- here are a few of the questions she asked (and he answered) about his writing process and about his novel, The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat: How do you pick names? An insight on how you create your main characters? How much research did you do before writing “The Supremes"? What is the hardest thing about writing? (And several other questions.) You can read the entire interview if you -- click here!

Back in May, E.K.M. was one of the authors who participated in Take Three: A Trio of Novelists Read and Talk at a new arts center on Cape Cod called Twenty Summers. There was a television crew on site who captured the entire evening (and they also recorded other literary and musical events that took place at Twenty Summers). The footage from many of those sessions is now available, free, at the Twenty Summers site! Join E.K.M. (who talks about The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat), and authors Julia Glass (And The Dark Sacred Night) and Andre Dubus III (Dirty Love) for the Take Three presentation: each author reads from their novel, and afterward they answer questions together. The event took place in the historic Hawthorne Barn, located at the edge of Provincetown. It was a lively, entertaining and informative evening, and now you can experience it for yourselves on streaming video! Click here to go directly to the Take Three event video at the Twenty Summers site. E.K.M. is the first author to read, and then he returns again at the end when all three of the authors answer audience questions. (Note to parents that there are some cuss words in E.K.M.'s reading.) |
