If you are attending the American Library Association's Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, this weekend, then be sure to check your registration information for details on the Black Caucus' (BCALA) Membership Meeting and Awards Presentation on Sunday night. Edward Kelsey Moore will be an honored guest and will be receiving the 2014 First Novelist Award from the BCALA for his debut novel, The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat. This award acknowledges outstanding achievement in writing and storytelling by a first time fiction writer. There will also be a book signing. Cost: included with ALA conference registration. We will post a few pictures from the event on the Photo page next week. #alaac14 The American Library Association (ALA) is starting their huge, annual conference and exhibition later this week, and so it's an exciting time to show you a sampling of libraries across the U.S. who are discussing Edward Kelsey Moore's The Supremes At Earl's All-You-Can-Eat -- today, and in upcoming weeks. Since the book was first published, readers in cities and towns large and small have been gathering with their clubs for lively discussions about the novel. This is not a complete list of all book club gatherings -- there are many, many private book clubs who don't list their meetings on the internet (their members often write to this website after an event and describe the fun they had while talking about Odette and her friends), but here is a list and internet links for some public library book club meetings for The Supremes at Earl's in the next few weeks: June 24th Daytime Book Discussion Group Wells Public Library, Wells, Maine (along the coast from Portland, Maine) This group usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, most discussions are facilitated by the Library Director and the Adult Community Education Director.
