![]() Leo Tolstoy's novel of passion and desire is brought to life in groundbreaking fashion by Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet! Stuck in a cold marriage, the regal Anna Karenina yearns for love. But at what cost? Led by visionary choreographer Yuri Possokhov, this World Premiere will have ten U.S. performances only! Yuri Possokhov's Anna Karenina centers on the tragic tale of the married aristocrat and her ongoing love triangle in Imperial Russia, a story that explores the complex politics of family, religion and morality. This world premiere production enlists an all-star creative team including Possokhov; a newly-composed music score by 2016 Golden Mask Award winner (Russia's most prestigious theatre honor) Ilya Demutsky; plus Emmy Award-winning set and costume designer Tom Pye. Accompanied by the Chicago Philharmonic led by conductor Scott Speck, Joffrey Ballet’s Anna Karenina will have its premiere in Chicago’s gorgeous Auditorium Theatre on February 13, with performances through February 24, 2019. Edward Kelsey Moore will be among his Philharmonic Orchestra colleagues for these performances.
