First Essay for MN Public Radio Site is Posted!

10/22/2014

Edward Kelsey Moore has been commissioned by Minnesota Public Radio to write a series of short essays for their Classical MPR webpage.  The first essay is now online, it's called: The Perfect Sentence to Describe a Feeling. Here is how Classical MPR describes it:  A torturous, three-and-a-half-hour gig provided author Edward Kelsey Moore with a phrase that he still uses, a decade later, to express his relief upon reaching the end of a bumpy stretch in his life. Maybe it can work for you, too.

Fans of Edward Kelsey Moore's writing... rejoice!  The award-winning, best selling author of The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat, who is also a professional cellist, has been commissioned to write essays for the Classical MPR / Music for Living website, which is a part of American Public Media / Minnesota Public Radio (they produce the nationally popular radio shows Marketplace and A Prairie Home Companion, among many others).  Over the coming months, E.K.M. will write a series of exclusive essays for Classical MPR: "As a writer, I've written a lot about the experience of having written my first book, and I've written a lot about what it means to me to be a writer at a certain age," Moore says. "But I've written very little about music, and I'm looking forward to writing about music as I experience it and what it has been in my life."
You can read an introduction to Edward Kelsey Moore's essay series, written by MPR Digital Producer Luke Taylor, if you click here.  The first of E.K.M.'s essays will be available on the Classical MPR site later this week!
(Click on the image of E.K.M. with the cello to enlarge it.)

As a warm welcome to Edward and his essays, Minnesota Public Radio is devoting a portion of their classical music broadcasts each morning this week to a celebration of the sonorous voice of the cello!  Classical MPR calls this special programming "Morning Glories."  You are invited to tune in (if you receive radio broadcasts from MPR) or listen online, weekdays at approximately 10 a.m. (central time zone).  If you click here, then on the left side of the Classical MPR page click "Listen to the Stream," to launch their music player and enjoy the broadcast!  To read a brief article describing the "Morning Glories" Cello Celebration pieces they've selected to play this week to welcome Edward Kelsey Moore, click here!
