In a little more than a week Westfield, Indiana (located just north of Indianapolis), will welcome award winning author Edward Kelsey Moore to their public library — on Friday, April 26th, 2019 at 7pm (doors open at 6:30).  Mr. Moore will be reading from his work, describing his writing process, answering questions and enjoying a conversation with the audience.  Edward Kelsey Moore is the author of the best-selling novel The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat, and his most recent novel, The Supremes Sing the Happy Heartache Blues.  He is an Indianapolis native who now makes his home in Chicago.  In addition to his writing, Mr. Moore also maintains a career as a professional cellist.  (Ask him about his stress level during the recent Amer Ballet Theatre performances of Whipped Cream.)

Doors will open at 6:30 PM, with the author’s presentation beginning at 7:00 PM.  Food and beverages will be served.  The author's novels will be available for purchase and he'll sign books after the presentation.

This event is free and open to the public.

Learn more about the Novel Conversations program, and how your book club can borrow free books…

If you live outside Indiana and are interested in a book club lending program in your area, search online at your state’s Humanities website. Another place to search is at the Public Library Foundation in your city or state, or visit the largest public library in your library district and ask about a similar book club borrowing program.

Indiana Humanities annually awards funds to local nonprofit organizations to bring an award-winning Indiana author to their community to speak to a public audience as part of the Novel Conversations Speakers Program. This year 12 Indiana authors will speak in more than 25 Indiana cities and towns. The program is funded by a grant from The Glick Fund, a fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation. The visiting authors are current and past finalists and recipients of the Glick Indiana Authors Award.

The Novel Conversations Speakers Program takes its name from Indiana Humanities’ Novel Conversations Program, a free statewide lending library offering sets of books, primarily fiction and biographies, to reading and discussion groups at libraries, community centers, schools and other locations throughout the state. The Novel Conversations library includes 700 titles by more than 500 authors. All of the Indiana authors taking part in this year’s speakers program are represented in the Novel Conversations library.

Any Indiana resident with a book club can participate in Novel Conversations for free! Books are shipped via the Indiana State Library’s INfo Express service to local libraries around the state, or picked up and returned at Indiana Humanities’ headquarters in Indianapolis. Residents of areas outside library districts may be eligible for free direct shipping. All books must be reserved in advance online by visiting:  indianahumanities.org/programs/novel-conversations
