The biggest classical music event of the Ravinia Festival's 109th summer season will be the Midwest premiere of John Adams' Passion-cum-oratorio, which depicts Christ's crucifixion and resurrection as seen through the eyes of Mary Magdalene, using the words of contemporary women writers. Edward Kelsey Moore will be among his colleagues in the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra, who will be performing along with the conductor (Grant Gershon), the chorus (Los Angeles Master Chorale), and actual soloists (including sopranos Kelly O'Connor and Tamara Mumford) for whom this piece was composed.
