Edward Kelsey Moore To Receive BCALA Award in Las Vegas

Back in January we announced that Edward Kelsey Moore was the winner of the 2014 First Novelist Award from the Black Caucus
of the American Library Association (BCALA) for his debut novel, The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat. The award acknowledges outstanding achievement in writing and storytelling by a first time fiction writer.  On Sunday evening, June 29th, E.K.M. will be an honored guest at the BCALA's Membership Meeting and Awards Presentation in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he will be given the Award.

The Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) presents four prizes annually: one for adult fiction, one for nonfiction, one for a first novelist and one for poetry.  Inaugurated at the Second National Conference of African American Librarians in 1994, the BCALA Literary Awards acknowledge outstanding achievement in the presentation of the cultural, historical and sociopolitical aspects of the Black Diaspora.  The BCALA Meeting and Awards Presentation is part of the American Library Association's Annual Conference and Exhibition.
